SAM (Get Down!)

In 1979, the five youngest Sam brothers—Leon, Carl, Rodney, Glen, and Calvin—recorded their first album for Arhoolie Records. Mixing rhythm and blues, soul, and funk, the brothers created their own unique zydeco sound. Vocalist and accordionist Leon led the group. The liner notes include a brief history of the band’s genesis.
