Mantentemezana (The breeze)
This herd boy’s rain song from Lobamba, Mbabane, Swaziland serves a duel purpose. It is sung when clouds are spotted, calling them to gather and drop rain for the cattle. Alternatively the herd boys sing it to disperse the clouds and let the sun shine again. Sung in unison without instrumental accompaniment, the rhythm has an even, swaying feel to it.
