Fiddlers Companion - Andrew Kuntz's "Descriptive Index of North American and British Isles Music for the Folk Violin and Other Instruments." Particularly interesting are the Alphabetical Files, which contain information on just about any fiddle tune you ever heard of, and Kuntz's articles on Tune History which have appeared in Fiddler Magazine.

Gorham Printing - This is the printer that printed our The Peter Beemer Manuscript and Now That's A Good Tune books. They did a very good job for us, printing from PDF files of the books we distilled from our layout in InDesign. They are in Centralia, Washington, and are very friendly, helpful and easy to work with, and their pricing is quite good. Highly recommended to anyone out there who needs book printing services, especially short print runs done from appropriate computer files.

David Miles Huber - Dave has two Web sites - www.51bpm.com for information about his great electronic music CDs (which have sold over 1 million copies), and www.modrec.com for information about the book he authored, Modern Recording Techniques. Dave is an outstanding creator of music that helps you relax. Whenever I am faced with an "uptight" situation, such as rewiring the studio, I put on his CDs and simply relax. The job gets done without any apparent effort and without the anxiety that often comes in coming to grips with situations that require some thinking through to accomplish. His book, Modern Recording Techniques, is one of the top reference books for recording professionals.

Idaho Old Time Fiddlers - The fiddle association that started the old time fiddlers association movement in the West.

Lester Levy Sheet Music Collection - A searchable and browseable collection of old sheet music of the originals from which a lot of popular fiddle and dance music came.

Lion Dog Music - Rick Ruskin's Web site. Rick is one of the best producers and recording engineers we have met and has a studio not far from us that has produced a number of significant recordings. He also is a world class finger style guitar player. He is also a dealer in the following product lines: Great River Electronics, FMR Audio (Real Nice Compresser, Real Nice Preamp), Groove Tubes Pro Audio, Speck Electronics, and Old School Audio. When we are asked to recommend a studio in the Seattle area, his is the first recommendation.

Tony Ludiker's Web Site - Five times National Fiddle Champion Tony Ludiker's web site. Tony's fiddle books can be found there, including his most recent release - "First Fiddle Tunes for Violin." Tony also offers professional bow rehairing and his web site has lots of information about fiddle contests and historical information about the "Joey and Terry Fiddle Contest and the "Tony and Darin Fiddle Contest."

Ludiker Music - JayDean Ludiker's publishing company with books of fiddle tunes and instruction materials from a National Champion fiddler.

Lundin's Violins - A stringed instrument shop located at 3202 North 4th, Coeur D'Alene, Idaho, run by the Lundin family. They have made some great recordings from their Scandinavian music heritage that are available from this site.

Montana Old Time Fiddlers - The Montana Fiddle Association. They run a great fiddle camp each summer near Monarch, MT.

Music for the Nation: American Sheet Music - Contains more than 62,500 pieces of historical sheet music registered for copyright: more than 15,000 registered during the years 1820-1860 and more than 47,000 registered during the years 1870-1885. Included are popular songs, operatic arias, piano music, sacred and secular choral music, solo instrumental music, method books and instructional materials, and music for band and orchestra. The collection documents the attitudes and tastes of a bygone era with music of many varieties and sources, all of it published in the United States.

National Oldtime Fiddlers' Contest - The National Oldtime Fiddlers' Contest at Weiser, Idaho. This site also has links to other fiddle sites.

Native Ground Music - Wayne Erbsen's oldtime music site featuring historic American music and folklore.

Northwest Heritage Resources - A Washington non-profit organization whose mission is to conserve cultural heritage and to present, promote, preserve and document the diverse cultural traditions of the Pacific Northwest. Has a searchable site for traditional Pacific Northwest performers, schedule of traditional arts events in the area, and much more about the traditional arts found in the Pacific Northwest.

Old Time Herald -One of the best and only magazines about old time music. While their main interest is in Southern Appalachian style of old time music, they do have articles from time to time on other types and styles of old time music.

Old Time Seattle - A very informative site about old time music happenings in the Seattle area.

On Line Music School - Web site of Irish fiddle player and violin maker Jim McKillop. Lots of information and links to other fiddle sites.

Oregon Old Time Fiddlers Association - Information about fiddling activities and contests in Oregon.

Petimar Press - Pete Martin's publishing company with great fiddle and mandolin tune books, and on music theory for these instruments for folks who want to go way beyond the "traditional" world.

Swing Cat - Paul Anastasio's record label featuring swing, jazz, old time, and Mexican fiddle music.

Wallowa Fiddle Camp, Wallowa, Oregon - A week long fiddle camp in beautiful Eastern Oregon. Instruction centers aroung fiddle and guitar. Classes start at 9:00 am, and run until 3:00 pm. Mini-workshops on a number of subjects related to oldtime fiddling start at 3:00 pm. Dances are held in the evening. It is put on by the Wallowas Valley Music Alliance. Washington Old Time Fiddlers' Association
- The Web site of the Washington State Old Time Fiddlers. Has information about the organization and its programs, including the annual Workshop at Kittitas, Washington. The organization also has tune books and recordings for sale. Mp3 files of the "tune of the month," as published in the WOTFA Newsletter each month, also can be accessed on this site. There are a lot of good tunes there!

Western Open Fiddle Contest - The Western Open at the Tehama County Fairgrounds in Red Bluff, California, held in October of each year, is one of the best fiddle contests anywhere. There is lots of RV parking and camping space on the fairgrounds. The facilities are first rate, the competition always hot, and the jamming great. Besides the usual fiddle contest divisions, there is also a picking contest for guitar, mandolin, and banjo. Fiddlers, pickers, and listeners should check this out!
