Shango is the deity of thunder among the Yoruba of Benin. As his worshipers dance, he is called to possess them through the performance of specific rhythms played on bata drums. On this track the bata drums ensemble from Pobé, Benin, plays an interlocking rhythm to Shango that is specific to their town. (Lacerda 1996)
