In this part of the epic, Khetrapal, becomes a disciple of guru Gorakhnath. The guru tests his skill and knowledge by giving him a task. He tells Khetrapal: "Go bring me alms in this bag. Don’t collect green wood and don’t collect dry wood; don’t cross a river; don’t go into a house; don’t cross any roads; in fact don’t ask for alms and don’t even fill the bag, but bring me alms in this bag."
