In this episode of the Epic of Kunjepal and Kirthipal, Kunjepal, has to undertake a long journey in order to pay tribute to a neighbouring warlord. It is likely that he will have to fight a war and may never return. To protect his wife who is pregnant with his son, Khetrapal, he leaves her in a cave at a place called Dharamshila. In the cave he places a kettle of milk, and a lotus. He tells her that If the milk turns to blood and the flower wilts, his wife is to know that he has been killed.
