Rani Kachhwahi
The Manganiars sing many songs of praise for their patrons, the Rajput kings and queens. This song is in Rag Sorath and is considered to be one of the most famous compositions of the Manganiars, not sung by other musician communities of Rajasthan. It pays respect to Rani Kachhwahi who was the queen of the Kachhwaha clan of Rajputs, and is often sung by women.
This rendition by Bhungar Khan begins with a duha addressed to Shyam (Krishna) and is influenced by the melodic style of Gujarat.
