Puerto Rican composer Héctor Campos Parsi (1922-1998) composed works for orchestra, voice, small ensembles and for individual instruments. Among his major works were “Divertimento del Sur” for string orchestra with flute and clarinet solos and the piano work “Sonata in G,” which he dedicated to pianist Jesús María Sanromá. In this recording, “Divertimento del Sur” is performed by the Casals Festival Orchestra at the University of Puerto Rico. “Sonata in G” is performed by famed Puerto Rican concert pianist Jesús María Sanromá at the studios of WIPR-TV in San Juan.
