Belly Dancing with George Abdo

Belly dancing has been defined as “solo, improvised dances based on torso articulation.” Thought to have originated in the Middle East, belly dance has become an international dance form often incorporating local costume and dance traditions. Some dancers consider belly dance to be a form of exercise.
George Abdo performed the music of his beloved Middle East in the Boston area during the 1970s and at that time recorded four albums for Monitor Records. In this recording the singer–bandleader leads his Flames of Araby Orchestra through 10 Middle Eastern songs and music for a complete belly dance routine.
