Songs for All Year Long

On this album, originally recorded for Scholastic Records in 1956, New York City sixth grade teacher and Juilliard alumnus Gil Slote sings a collection of original songs following an average school year’s timeline—starting in early fall, ending just before the beginning of summer, and including songs about holidays in between. Slote is accompanied on all songs by students of his from school P.S. 24 in New York. Liner notes provide discussion questions and activities for each song for teachers and children.
