Nine Bena Shimba (Luba) women of Eastern Kasai, Democratic Republic of Congo, sing this wedding song using three singing gourds, called chipeni, which they hold up to their mouths to affect the timbre of their voices. A basket rattle, a struck bottle, and clapping complete the sonic texture.
