Khokong a Southern Sotho term for buffalo, is also the title of a worksong performed while Southern Sotho men prepare water-buffalo skins: "We must try hard to soften the breast skin of the buffalo." They say the breast skin is the hardest of all to prepare and takes much time and labor.
