Wena Bawondi Wela
A group of Mfengu from Dabi’s Location, Ciskei, South Africa, sing a circumcision song that is performed before young men go through initiation. The people of this district are actually Fingo or Mfengu but speak Ngqika. Their ancestors were refugees from Shaka, coming from Swaziland over 120 years ago. The song is accompanied by hand clapping.
