Ushshaq-i Kalon (Great ushshaq)
This classical piece with vocals by Izro Malakhov, accompanied by tanbur and doira, is melodically identical to Ushshaw-i-Samarkand, a popular classical song composed by the 19th-century Samarkand musician Hoji Abdulaziz. The melody derives from the Central Asian melody type ushshaq, and is sung to a variety of Tajik and Uzbek poetic texts written in the metrical aruz style.
