For the many who have come to love the organization and its work over the past three decades, Smithsonian Folkways has served as a symbol of musical discovery, social engagement, and integrity in dealing with artists and communities since we joined the Smithsonian Institution in 1987. Smithsonian Folkways Membership provides an opportunity to truly become part of our extended community, supporting our mission and enjoying exclusive benefits.
Membership includes a special, limited edition Smithsonian Folkways Vinyl-Lovers gift set to include a keychain, earrings and cufflinks (the Folkways Member tier receives the limited-edition keychain), $1,000 - $2,000 in downloads per year from our vast catalog of 60,000 tracks and 3,500 albums, and 20% -30% off our entire physical catalog of CDs, box sets, and vinyl, and all Smithsonian Folkways merchandise. Also, receive a specially curated “70 years, 70 Tracks” USB drive. In addition, Folkways Patrons will receive an invitation to our Folkways 70th Anniversary Reception at the Smithsonian Institution in 2018. Please see each membership tier for benefits details.
Each membership tier enjoys an attractive benefits package and helps support our non-profit mission. Because of the value associated with the benefits of membership, membership payments are not deductible as charitable contributions. If you waive the benefits, your support will qualify as a tax deductible donation. For this option, simply choose one of the DONATE amounts at the bottom of each membership column.
Members will receive an annual renewal notice prior to membership expiration and will be charged at the renewal rate unless the member cancels the renewal at least 15 days in advance of their renewal date by calling 1-888-FOLKWAYS or sending an email to FolkwaysMembership@si.edu.
By enrolling in a Smithsonian Membership Plan, you acknowledge and agree that these terms and conditions are a binding agreement between you and Smithsonian Folkways. Accordingly, please review this agreement carefully.More →
