Camp Songs with Ella Jenkins and Friends is the latest release from renowned children’s musician, Ella Jenkins. Fulfilling a decade-long dream of composing an album of traditional camp songs, Jenkins enlisted the help of children, parents, and teachers from the Old Town School of Folk Music and Tony & Kate Seeger of Camp Killooleet to create this testament to how camp singing history and culture can impact children for the rest of their lives.

With a track list comprised of American classics (“This Land is Your Land”) and cultural songs based on Jenkins’ travels around the world (“Tumbalalaika”), Camp Songs is full of fun and engaging melodies and rhythms. Children and listeners of all-ages are encouraged to dance, sing, and mimic the sounds heard throughout the album.

As Jenkins’ 40th recording with Folkways, Camp Songs with Ella Jenkins and Friends is a demonstration of her dedication to fostering an appreciation for music and culture in children. Additionally, Jenkins was awarded a prestigious 2017 National Heritage Fellowship from the National Endowment of the Arts
