The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys Release Rollicking New Single “Lonely Pine”

GRAMMY-nominated East Tennessee bluegrass group The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys are out today with their first single of 2024, “Lonely Pine,” on Smithsonian Folkways Records. Originally debuted at the 2023 International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) Awards, this ode to nature and letter to the land combines nimble guitar work and a traditional, upbeat bluegrass sound to honor farmers and their strong connection to the natural world.

“Lonely Pine is a farmer’s plea to the ground he has worked for many a year and to a particular conifer on his property that speaks to him,” says the group’s mandolin player and vocalist C.J. Lewandowski. “If you listen close enough, nature can guide you.”

2024 marks ten years since The Po’ Ramblin Boys’ initial formation as the Ole Smoky Moonshine house band, and ten years of hard-touring as they’ve expanded on their unique blend of straight-up bluegrass with touches of honky-tonk, rebellion, and trad stylings. This summer, the band will be crisscrossing the country on a tour that will include appearances at Nashville’s Station Inn and a ton of major festivals, including their first-ever performance at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival on June 21st alongside notable acts like Madison Cunningham and Billy Strings.

Keep an eye out for more to come from The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys in the coming months!
