The Bible: Read in French consists of selections from Psalms, Proverbs, and Ecclesiastes, three books of the Old Testament that are also included in Christian Bibles. Among the passages read by educator Armand Bégué are the 23rd Psalm (identified on the recording as Psalm XXII) and Chapter III, verses 1 through 19 of Ecclesiastes (“To everything there is a season…”). The liner notes contain both English texts and French translations of the chosen excerpts with numbered verses so the listener may follow along while listening to the album. The English translation is from the King James Version.
