Interview with Antonio Salemme, Sculptor and Painter Italian-born American painter and sculptor Antonio Salemme (1892–1995) was interviewed on Christmas Eve, 1977, by Father Peter F. O’Brien, S.J. Salemme, whose sculptures are in the collections of the National Gallery of Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, talks to Father O’Brien about his career as both a painter and sculptor and about some of his important works. The liner notes present a portfolio of pictures of some of his sculptures and drawings.
