This is an example of a mangal geet, an unaccompanied song performed by women of the Baddi community (Badin) during weddings and other auspicious occasions. This type of song is rarely performed in Garhwal today. The song describes pre-wedding ritual which prepare the bride by annointing her with oil and turmeric.
