Louisiana Hot Sauce, Creole Style

National Heritage Fellow Canray Fontenot (1922 – 1995) has been called “the greatest Black Louisiana French fiddle player of our time” by no less an expert than Cajun musician Michael Doucet. This collection of music was recorded over a 20-year period from 1971 to 1991 and features Fontenot in several different music groups, including two different settings with Michael Doucet. The down-home music repertoire includes waltz and two-step dance music, ballads and country blues. The liner notes include information about each song in the collection.
