Contemporary English Literature, Vol. 2: Poetry and Prose

Laurie Lee, Christopher Logue, and C. Northcote Parkinson join on this album to provide poetic and literary perspectives into their lives. In his poem “Man on the Other Side,” Laurie Lee writes from the point of view of his “side.” Christopher Logue’s poem “Great Men in the Morning” references the gramophone as a background to the his morning newspaper. Both poets’ works also focus on themes of nature. The album closes with a speech by C. Northcote Parkinson on the process required for policy approval, complete with mathematical formulas and detailed analysis.
