Narrated in Turkish by native speakers, this album contains two folktales: “The Golden Candlestick” and “Crazy Mehmet and the Three Priests.” In “The Golden Candlestick,” a beautiful young girl hides inside a large golden candlestick with her best friend to escape an incestuous marriage, only to fall in love with the prince who buys the candlestick. In “Crazy Mehmet and the Three Priests,” a drunkard ends up having to deal with the ramifications of three priests’ attentions on a merchant’s wife.
