Easter Ceremonies in Jerusalem

Various Artists
Easter Ceremonies in Jerusalem To persons of the Christian faith, Easter Holy Week is the most meaningful season of the year, and its most solemn observance occurs in Jerusalem. In 1957, Folkways released a recording of the Easter religious ceremonies performed in Jerusalem, incorporating traditions from the multitude of denominations that celebrate this sacred week. The liner notes include artwork and iconography of the Crucifixion and detailed descriptions by Theodor H. Gaster, a scholar well known for translating the Dead Sea Scrolls.
