Samukonga lunga lyambala lya Meli (Samukonga is the husband of Mary)
Complex percussion on struck bottles accompanies this Luvale call-and-response song. The opening recitation by the leader and the repeated use of the word mama are said by Hugh Tracey to be unmistakable examples of the Luvale singing style. The performers originated in Chavuma, Northern Rhodesia, now called Zambia.
