In Come a Bumblebee: Traditional Songs and Tunes on English Concertina

English concertina (a small accordion) virtuoso Richard Carlin is joined by four multi-instrumentalist friends on a variety of songs ranging from sprightly dance tunes to ballads. The traditional tunes, which they have arranged, are primarily from England, Scotland, and Ireland, with the title song (“In Come a Bumblebee”) representing the U.S. Carlin recorded two other albums for Folkways: The English Concertina (FW08845) and The Poppy Seed (FW08847). He is also the author of Worlds of Sound: The Story of Smithsonian Folkways. Liner notes provide background information on the concertina, the musicians, and each song.
