Folk Dances of Austria, Vol. 2

Karl Kubat and His Brass Folk Dance Band
Folk Dances of Austria, Vol. 2

Folk Dances of Austria, Vol. 2 is an engaging collection on its own or as a complement to Vol. 1. The waltz and turning dances originated in the alpine regions of Austria and later became popular in the courts of Vienna. At the time these dances, which required partners to be so close to one another that they touched, were considered racy and even sinful. Liner notes include intricate measure-by-measure dance instructions for each song, a description of the region each song comes from, and photos. Accompanied by Karl Kubat’s brass folk dance band.
