Kamsale is folk dramatic singing and dance performance. It derives its name from the cymbal Kamsale which is regarded as a symbol of the folk deity Madesha. Kamsale is performed exclusively by males in the Mysore area of Karnataka. Mangala - the concluding part of the performance - arati (prayer) for the deity Madhappa.
