El Primer Conjunto Norteño Famoso 1946-1949

Maya y Cantú
El Primer Conjunto Norteño Famoso 1946-1949 In the 1940s, the duo of Jesus Maya (bajo sexto) and Timoteo Cantu (accordion) was probably the most popular dueto norteño along the Texas-Mexico border. Between 1946 and 1949, they recorded music for Ideal Records at XEDF radio station in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. Unfortunately, artistic and personal differences caused Maya and Cantu to split up by the early 1950s. This collection of corridos and canciones represents some of their most important music from that era.
