Anna & Elizabeth video premiere and interview on NPR, new album now available for pre-order
Last month we welcomed Anna & Elizabeth to the Smithsonian Folkways Recordings family and today we finally get to share music and a whole lot more from Anna Roberts-Gevalt and Elizabeth LaPrelle.
First, we are thrilled to announce the pre-order for their upcoming album, The Invisible Comes to Us, slated for release on March 30th as part of the Smithsonian Folkways 70th anniversary celebration. The album in both CD and LP formats is available for pre-order right now, here or via Amazon and iTunes!
Anna & Elizabeth had a wonderful conversation with NPR Music’s Bob Boilen on All Songs Considered – listen in for a dive inside the mind of the duo, on creating The Invisible Comes to Us, song collecting, their influences, and of course, brand new music! Check that out here.
A feast for the ears to be sure, but how about for the eyes? Watch the brand new video for “Mother in the Graveyard.” The song “Mother in the Graveyard” was collected by Margaret MacArthur, recording Hildreth Brown in 1961 in Brattleboro, Vermont. MacArthur recorded her own version for Folkways on Folksongs of Vermont.
Continue to watch the Smithsonian Folkways website and social media sites for upcoming news about The Invisible Comes to Us and Anna & Elizabeth’s big plans. Follow the band over on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Spotify. Make sure to catch them on tour!
