  • August People’s Picks Features Playlist by Guest-Curator Warren Defever

August’s edition of our monthly playlist series People’s Picks features a “World of Sound” playlist curated by Detroit-based musician, producer, and founder of experimental rock band His Name Is Alive, Warren Defever. Warren compiled a diverse selection of tracks that embody his Smithsonian Folkways connections, from the Elizabeth Mitchell recordings he produced and artists like Michael Hurley who he’s recorded, to sounds and songs like Gaither Carlton’s “Look Down That Lonesome Road” that have inspired his own music. Listen to the playlist and read Defever’s track notes here.
