Accompanying himself on a kankowele, a fan-shaped mbira, Poleni Mutacha sings this version of a well-known older tune popularized as a guitar song in Southern Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe. A mirliton, made from a piece of paper or a flattened spider’s web and attached to his mbira, adds a buzz to the sound.
