This part is entitled "Phul Singh Panjabi ki larai," or "the battle of Phul Singh Panjabi." King Pratham and his consort Manjha are reunited after twelve years. Because Manjha has been gone for twelve years, Pratham refuses to allow her in the palace until she bathes in the Ganges. Motini and Nal are worried about the venture, as the trip has been fraught with ill-omens. Manjha calls a maid and sends her to Nal to explain that she will be departing soon. The section presented here begins when the maid reaches Nal's palace. She relates to Nal the entire background. Nal becomes worried, especially due to the portents that he has seen. He then proceeds to the palace. Manjha tells him that she has to bathe in the Ganges. Nal says he will see to it that she goes and bathes. King Pratham commands Nal to remain in the fort and declares that since he is such a powerful king Nal need not worry.
