Measure of a Man
Sons and Brothers

To the Wolking family of Westcliff, Colorado—the sons and brothers who make up the eponymous cowboy band—being “Western” means being part of an ideal: a part of a lifestyle built on honesty, hard work, and selflessness. On Measure of a Man, they offer a record they refer to as “almost entirely Western.” Across the album’s twelve selections are songs from the ranges—sentimental string band music with a Western attitude and songwriting from the likes of Townes Van Zandt, Dave Stamey, Steve Earle, and more.
“Seldom does such a talented group get presented to the public. Likewise, seldom does one family possess such a talent, work ethic, faith and determination as do the Wolkings, who are the Sons and Brothers.”
- Waddie Mitchell
