Going Home: New Songs for Children and Parents

New York–based Candy Band offers a collection of original family-friendly songs. Song topics range from celebrating the Fourth of July, planting seeds, and self-esteem to the weather. The quintet, composed of Julie North, Maurice O’Mahony, Jeff Beck, Sarah Hollatz, and Ed Packer, provide vocals with Beck and Packer playing guitars and O’Mahony on harmonica. The group dedicated the recording to Folkways Records founder Moe Asch (who was still alive at the time this album was released), who helped [them] “remember that the simplest things are the most beautiful.” Lyrics for all songs are included in the liner notes.
