Vhoru cholon aila (The Wedding Day)
From Music of Goa
Erss is a wedding song genre of the Christian Gavda community. This traditional erss has four verses, each making reference to the bride. In the first verse an elder from the groom's house receives the couple into the home after the wedding ceremony. In the second verse the bride is told that all her ornaments have been melted into a gold ball. The third verse wishes the bride a happy life in her new home and the final verse requests the bride to be protected from the sun.
