This is a selection of music from Goa representing a variety of performance forms including oral epics, mythological dance drama, social drama, and songs from seasonal festivals and community rituals. The collection features songs from the repertoire of Zagor—ritual theatre; Ranmale—mythological dance drama; Dhallo and Fugdi—women’s ritual songs; and Gudulyo Gayan—oral epic. The recordings were made in Goa with performers from various communities who perform with traditional musical instruments.
