Zez Confrey: Creator of the Novelty Rag

Composer of over one hundred pieces, Zez Confrey is remembered as inventor of the "novelty rag" and for his success in arranging and performing for the player piano. His early work presented here combines harmonies influenced by French Impressionist composers with the syncopations of ragtime.
