Man of the Whole Wide World

Art Samuels with the Montreal Youth Singers
Man of the Whole Wide World

This 1956 collection includes "songs of peace and protest" and "songs of fun and impudence." The music―all of the selections are original compositions by Samuels―speaks to humans' interconnectivity: "I'm black, I'm white, I'm yellow and I'm brown/I've got a brother in every town/ I can't be up when my brother is down,/I'm a man of the whole wide world." Samuels accompanies himself on guitar and is joined by members of the Montréal Youth Singers.

Liner notes include commentary from Art Samuels and song lyrics.
