Hot Chili Mama

Hot Chili Mama, released in 1988, was Beausoleil’s third and final album for the Arhoolie label. The band plays a mix of Cajun and zydeco music of earlier performers (Canray Fontenot and Amédé Ardoin) along with performances of the band’s newest compositions (“Hot Chili Mama” and “Je Suis Marie Avec Une, Mais En Amour Avec Un Autre (I'm Married to One, But in Love with Another).” “Hot Chili Mama” was awarded 4 ½ stars by Allmusic, which described the music as a “perfect blend of Cajun, zydeco and rock & roll.”
