More Music Time and Stories

Charity Bailey and Steve Sahlein
More Music Time and Stories Singer and educator Charity Bailey (1904–1978) collaborates with one of her former students, singer-songwriter and guitarist Steve Sahlein, on this 1970 collection of activity songs for young children. A lifelong teacher and performer, Bailey frequently sang songs like the ones heard here on her local New York City children’s television program Once Upon a Day. The final two selections, “The Gingerbread Man” and “Why Bears Don’t Have Tails,” are spoken and sung short stories performed by Sahlein. Denise Owens joins Bailey and Sahlein singing harmony on several songs. Lyrics and activity instructions for all songs are included in the liner notes.
