Conversation Pieces: Read By Jill Balcon, Lally Bowers, Rachel Gurney, Pauline Letts, Marjorie Westbury, etc.
Various Artists

Aptly titled “Conversation Pieces,” the poems on this album are collaborations between pairs of readers who bring the text to life with their spirited interpretations of each poets’ work. Many popular poems are included on this album, including Christopher Marlowe’s “The Passionate Shepherd to His Love,” W.H. Auden’s “O What Is That Sound,” and Thomas Hardy’s “To The Moon,” re-interpreted in a performance that calls to mind a lively evening in a parlor. With pieces that emphasize the conversational and interactive nature of poetry performance, the album is especially useful for students. Liner notes include poem texts.
