Released in 1950, Exotic Dances takes the listener on an international journey of discovering the dances of various nations. The dances come from India, Japan, Spain, Argentina, Burma (Myanmar), and Panama. In several instances, contrasting dances from the same country are included such as various temple dances performed in India. The liner notes include photos of the typical costume worn with each dance and a description of the dance and information regarding its country of origin.
