Fast Folk Musical Magazine (October 1996, Vol. 8, No. 7): Rebirth

By the fall of 1996, Fast Folk Musical Magazine was approaching 15 years as an all-volunteer not-for-profit songwriter’s exchange. Looking ahead, Fast Folk editor Richard Meyers stated that the label was recommitted to serving as a platform for contemporary songwriters. This edition featured songs by Jeff Tarayla (“There Goes Baby”), Susan McKoewn (“Ballinaboula”), Hugh Blumenfeld (“Longhairedradicalsocialistjew”), Kelly Flynn with Dave’s True Story (“Nirvana”), David Hamburger (“Brokedown Limousine”); Jane Hohenberger reads three of her poems. Guitars, pianos, cello, Uilleann pipes, and a broom make musical appearances. A facsimile of the magazine is included.
