Mountain Songs and Yodeling of the Alps

Recorded in 1958, this album was performed by Fritz Liechti and his family. Liechti was considered at the time one of the top yodelers; a talent which is clearly evident in this collection of Swiss songs that exemplify a long tradition of mountain music in Switzerland. The songs are cheerful with accordion accompaniment, the lyrics full of reverence for the mountains and meadows. Liner notes include song lyrics in German with English translation.
