The Violin, Vol. 5 Masterfully performed by Canadian violinist Hyman Bress and released in 1963, this is the fifth and final album in a series "primer" on the violin. Detailed liner notes include a history of the violin's evolution, dating as far back to the Egyptian lyre, and information on each song, as well as a list of composers who wrote important works for the violin. Liner notes also include an essay by Bress, "The Role of Electronic Music in Relationship to the Violin."
