The Overcoat by Nikolai Gogol: Performed in Russian

In this recording from 1960, noted Soviet actor Maksim Straukh narrates a dramatized version of The Overcoat in the original Russian. One of the most well-known of Nikolai Gogol’s short stories, The Overcoat tells of Akaky Akakyevich, a lowly government clerk whose main goal in life is to get a new overcoat of the best quality.
