At eighteen, Spoelstra left his home in California and hitchhiked to New York City, where he played for tips at Greenwich Village coffeehouses with another young itinerant singer, Bob Dylan. This album presents a variety of songs, including blues favorites and American ballads—all augmented by Spoestra's fine twelve-string guitar playing.
