Modern Soviet Poetry and Humor: Read by Alexander Demidov

Modern Soviet Poetry and Humor, released in 1962, contains works by Vladimir Mayakovsky, Sergey Alexandrovich Yesenin, and Michael Zoschenko. All three men came of age during the period of the Russian Revolution (1917). Their distinct viewpoints are a reflection of the social culture of pre- and post-revolution Russia and provide a unique voice to the tumultuous environment of their time. Short biographies, in English and Russian, are available in the liner notes along with transcriptions of the poems read.
