Here to Stay: Live at the Grease Lounge, 1984: Their First Recording

Founded in 1983 by tuba/Sousaphone player Philip Frazier, bass drummer Keith Frazier, and trumpeter Kermit Ruffins, the Rebirth Brass Band (titled here the ReBirth Jazz Band) was following in the long tradition of New Orleans brass bands. This first recording was made while all seven band members were still in their teens. The band plays a mix of traditional New Orleans brass band music, modern jazz, gospel, and funk in this collection. Still active in 2019, the Rebirth Brass Band is here to stay.
